The simplest answer I can give is not enough lessons were learned from the Gilded Age, but with the twist of this technology and the associated financials being a complete mystery to the average person.

I am willing to accept trailers but the split is closer to 25 minutes of random shit + 5 minutes trailers. Let's be generous and say that I'm misremembering & it's actually 20 + 10. That's still 20 minutes of ads that I'm paying to watch.
